preLUDE

Feb 27 - 11:10pm
A prelude to the last day before DAY1

My eyes are compelling me to sleep now. But I just won’t yet, in a while yeah.

Today’s the last day before the last day before Day1, meaning, it’s February 27 and in a few minutes now, February 28 na, the last day. Earlier I was writing my final requirements for the semester, which also means, for college. Nakakapressure yes, but I am more calm now, the storm is still on, but as it goes, the calm has descend and in a few more moments so shall peace. Ganun daw pag binabagyo.

Hindi na ako makahintay. Though the future may still seem too good and too big to be true, the thought of finally going on my own thrills me so. Iiwan ko na din and mga nais kong iwan, and to that place where I would decide to go, wala akong gagawin to give me reasons to leave. If situations compel me to, I shall with joy, as you know I would only live a hundred years (even less) so why spend days with things and situation and people that would cause to pain.

Over dinner, my brother asked me to ask as well if there are vacancies for accountants at the company am eyeing for in Singapore, and then he added that I should tell the truth cause, according to him, baka daw hindi ko sabihin kasi ayaw kong makasama dun si ate Kun. Duh. I sure am convinced that spending more time with her is hell. So yah, you got me right big bro. Pathetic though, kasi Kun made a remark na parang hindi nya talaga pansin that she’s quote unquote ‘mayordoma’, her version of maldita. Hai, sumalangit nawa  buti na lang malapit na 

Meanwhile ,in the days to come I shall pray and pray and pray. Sana Lord,  for me and my family. Amen. Amen.

jinx

Somebody once told me that naming a friendship puts into it a jinx.

Maybe he was right.

For naming a friendship is maybe putting into it as well unuttered expectations, unchecked assumptions. Maybe naming it is jinxing it because it also means making it, us vulnerable.

But what if I say it does not really.

Ever heard of pet names?

Bossing, Yaya, Sunshine, Peklat, Huggiebear, bok, tsong.

I’ve got a few names in mind, and in retrospect, I have kept these friends with me for quite some time now. I have been able to transcend those unuttered expectations and unchecked assumptions with them.

Maybe it’s not at all a jinx.

Maybe it’s like a prayer, naming a friendship or a friend is like drawing graces near. For some, it may seem that it breaks it apart, coz in God’s grace; maybe it’s not yet the time. But at the end of the day, what it really does is it makes it even stronger, even better.

Siguro tama ang awit ng MYA…

For now, I shall EAT. PRAY and RUN, yes, run.
